Cardinal Academics is a full service tutoring and test prep company serving families in the Los Angeles area since 2004. We are a team of professional educators offering customized 1-on-1 in-home tutoring for K-12 subjects, as well as the SAT, ACT, and ISEE exams.

K-12 Subject Tutoring

We can help with just about any subject through the AP level, including math (Algebra, Geometry, Calculus), science (Chemistry, Physics, Biology), languages (Latin, French, Spanish), and humanities (English, History, Literature). Rates range from $65/hr-$95/hr depending on grade level and subject.

Academic Management

We provide students with the skills, organization and motivation to become confident and self-sufficient learners. This service is particularly geared towards middle school students who need help managing their overall academics and could use the support of an “all-around” tutor. Rates range from $65/hr-$75/hr depending on grade level.

ISEE/HSPT Prep

With private school admissions becoming more and more competitive each year, it's become imperative that students go into these exams feeling confident and prepared. We review the content these tests cover, while also providing test-taking strategies and practice exams to master the skills needed to succeed. Rates range from $70/hr-$75/hr depending on grade level.

SAT/ACT Prep

If you're looking for individual, customized preparation for the SAT or ACT, we can help. We've got a long track record of successfully raising students' scores. Every student is different, so every program is tailored to that student's needs. In general, we focus on test-taking strategies, a systematic content review, and timed practice exams to maximize a student's scores. Rates start at $95/hr.


ABOUT

Since our inception in 2004, Cardinal Academics has grown to become one of the most respected and trusted resources for families in the Los Angeles community. We're a boutique firm comprised of a handful of the best educators in the industry.

 

We work with students from a number of schools, including Windward, Harvard-Westlake, Palisades High, Paul Revere, Brentwood, Archer, Crossroads, and many others.

 

Our founder, Jonathan Lotz, is a Stanford graduate with a bachelor's in Sociology and Master's in Organizational Behavior. He is available for SAT/ACT prep on a limited basis.

 

Prior to founding Cardinal Academics, Jonathan worked as a financial analyst in the Private Wealth Management group of Goldman Sachs and as an academic coach and manager for InsideTrack Learning.

 

Jonathan has also been the head varsity volleyball coach at the Archer School for Girls in Brentwood since 2007.
